A Guide to managing your period during COVID-19

We’ve seen A LOT of Tweets by you guys speaking about how dreadful your periods have been during lockdown. Here are our tips to make your period at home more manageable during this time:

  • Breathe and try not to stress. 

You may have noticed that your period may be irregular during this time. If your period is late, don’t worry, usually during times of stress, our periods tend to not follow their usual pattern. This lockdown can impact the flow and the timing of your period.

  • Wash your hands regularly. 

This is even more important during your period.  The way COVID-19 spreads has been highlighted a lot however, It has not been reiterated that its especially important to wash your hands during menstruation. By washing your hands regularly, you drastically decrease any chance that the COVID-19 virus can enter your body.

  • Keep changing your pads and tampons regularly. 

You need to change your menstrual products regularly even if you’re just sitting at home watching movies, eating and relaxing. 

  • Do Light exercise. 

Light exercise such as Yoga can reduce cramps. You can also stretch and walk around your home or garden. Remember to follow the lockdown regulations.

  • Drink lots of water and eat your fruits and veggies. 

Keep your body healthy and your immune system strong. You can do this by eating a healthy and balanced diet. This also ensures that you have enough energy to get through this stressful period.
